Apel Keuroghlian MD, DDS
Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Implant Dentistry
Dr. Apel Keuroghlian is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon that graduated from UCLA. His career began with a biomedical/biochemical engineering degree from the University of Southern California, where he graduated among the top of his class. Throughout his undergraduate education in engineering, Dr. Keuroghlian researched the effects of the different surface characteristics of implants and their integration with bone.
He later decided to further his education by obtaining a dental degree from USC. While at the USC School of Dentistry, Dr. Keuroghlian received several endowed scholarships for academics/research including the California Dental Association research scholarship and academic scholarship as well as the Class of 1964 endowed scholarship. He once again graduated amongst the top of his class. Dr. Keuroghlian truly enjoyed the surgical aspect of dentistry while in dental school and decided to further his education in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCLA which includes a Medical Degree from UCLA, as well as an internship certificate in general surgery.
In addition to practicing at Total Family Dental Group in the City of Torrance, he currently holds a faculty position at UCLA. Dr. Keuroghlian truly enjoys what he does and is committed to enhancing patient care by integrating his engineering, dental, surgical skills, and education. He is dedicated to patient care, and looks forward to continuing research in the future.
Dr. Keuroghlian is fluent in both English and Armenian. When not working, Dr. Keuroghlian enjoys travelling, skiing, playing basketball, or just hanging out with his friends.
Dr. Thuc Tran-Viet
Dr. Thuc Tran-Viet graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1984, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Biological Sciences, and Biochemistry, with a minor in French and Microbiology. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1989.
Dr. Tran’s professional expertise includes all dental procedures including dental implants, root canal, and extractions, where his skill and precision truly stand out. He is fluent in Vietnamese and French, allowing him to communicate with a diverse range of patients with comfort and ease.
Dr. Tran is a proud resident of Huntington Beach for over 30 years, He enjoys an active life with his wife, Nikki, who works with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Health Department at the Los Angeles County Jail.
Outside the office, Dr. Tran enjoys running, hiking, traveling, photography, and gardening.

Linda B. Chen, DDS
Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Sleep Apnea
Torrance and San Pedro Dentist, Dr. Linda Chen specializes in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. She completed her undergraduate education at Johns Hopkins University and then went on to receive her dental degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Chen continued her training at Birmingham Department of Veteran Affairs for her General Practice Residency and followed with a Dental Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She completed her Advanced Prothodontics Residency at West Los Angeles Department of Veteran Affair, while holding the position of Chief Resident. Dr. Chen later went on to a Maxillofacial Prosthodontics Fellowship at UCLA. She has also spent several years as a Clinical Assistant Professor at both USC and UCLA.
While at the Veterans Hospital, Dr. Chen also worked with patients who had been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, but were CPAP intolerant and therefore needed an alternative treatment. With the help of the lab, Dr. Chen would have a Silencer appliance fabricated and fitted to the needs of the patient. For many CPAP intolerant patients, an oral appliance is the preferred form of treatment as it is less invasive and geared toward patient comfort.
Dr. Chen, while being extremely knowledgeable in her field, also has the ability to speak with patients in both an informative and calming way. She has quickly become a patient favorite because of her soothing nature and gentle dentistry.
